In the beginning, before the creation, Alalu came down to the land. The plough bore the furrow, the furrow the shoot, the shoot the growing head(?), the growing head(?) the node, the node the ear, the ear the ergot. The Sun-god reaped, the Moon-god gleaned; when the Sun-god was reaping, the Moon-god was gleaning, the ergot entered into the eye of the man; Sun-god and Moon-god stand by, so that the ergot may come out!
